This week, we chat about the movie Stargate, per Cameron's request. Is it as awesome as her childhood nostalgia would have us believe? Plus, Rhea and Ricky pitch some ideas for getting Kurt Russell and James Spader back together. They're like peanut butter and jelly!

Don't forget to tune in for the 2014 MaxFunDrive, March 17-28!

You guys, I tried. I tried to make it through Stargate, but I made it to the 1 hour 15 minute mark and I could not finish it. And I watched all of Ninja 2: Shadow of a Tear.

Normally Spader, Russell, space, Egyptians…it all sounds like it would make for a great movie. I don't know where it went wrong but it sure went wrong in a big way. Although I thought Cameron's point about our attention spans in movies was interesting. I've often found myself getting bored while watching some movies, and my eyes inevitably wander to my phone or my immediate surroundings. I do wonder if technology has played a role in reinforcing a short attention span. I'm not addicted to checking my phone or anything, but while watching Stargate I found my mind wandering quite a bit and only partially paying attention to the movie.
