Biz and Theresa remember back to what it was like celebrating Mother’s Day as kids. In retrospect, Mom may have gotten a raw deal, including having to share her dime-store, rock-hard but selected-with-love, chocolates. Plus, we talk about introducing solids and wonder if anyone cares what we feed our kids. Eleni Mandell returns to talk about her new album, “Let’s Fly A Kite,” and about touring with 3-year-olds (it's apparently super).

Episode 55: Happy Mother's Day, Now Eat!

What do you remember about Mother's Day from when you were a kid?

Doing anything special this year?

What was your baby's (or your!) first food? How'd that go?

Please share and discuss!

I am not sure what my first food was, but I know a weird one that was a very early solid food. I was anemic as a baby and my mom decided to DIY a solution. She would blend together yogurt and liver for some odd baby food for me.

I guess I ate meat really early! She claims that I didn't care about flavors as long as the food had a nice texture. I am not sure if that is a baby thing or just a baby me thing.

Happy Mother's Day!

I mean, it's kinda genius! The amazing thing about babies is they have no context for any of it, so you can do stuff like this and they won't care unless they actually hate it. This morning I gave Oscar some cold infant oatmeal blended with puréed prunes and mashed banana and he loved it.
