This week's episode may lack the level of sophistication you've become accustomed to from our humble internet radio program. We suggest you remove your cumberbund and monocle before listening, lest they rocket off of your body in an act of aristocratic defiance.
Suggested talking points: Boot Knockin', Getting Polyggy With It, Scales and Fins, Goldthwait'd, Beefin', Making Number One, The Ol' N.C. Sweet Potato, 4N
Episode 41 MP3

Just popping in here before I sit down to listen to thank the lovely Brothers Mcelroy for their wonderful show! Also for introducing me to all the great podcasts here on Maxfun, which I am slowly working my way through with great enjoyment.
Thanks guys!

Why was there a cut in the podcast?
Please don't tell me you cutting out jokes now. The maxfun stuff is already bumming me out.

I think that some cuts are made for timing issues (or to remove some offensive stuff that the brothers don't want on the show)

Yeah, we almost always record more than we end up using. The stuff that ends up on the cutting room floor always ends up there for a reason, though -- usually not due to offensiveness, just due to the fact that our show's unscripted, and, naturally, some stuff doesn't work as well as other stuff. I try to make the show as seamless as possible, though -- what "cut" were you referring to?
(Also, a small typo: You said the Maxfun stuff is "bumming you out," when I think you meant "the coolest thing ever, because their shows and community are absolutely top-notch.")

Here's the real story:
The McElroys recorded a few segments of the show that were "in solidarity with" the protestors in Egypt. There were folk songs, there were some prayers read in Arabic, and they did a couple skits with special guest Jane Fonda.
I told them they couldn't, but they did anyway, so I hastily edited them out of the final program so as not to offend MaxFun's primary sponsor, Egyptian Coke, which is solely licensed by Hosni Mubarak.
Anyone who complains goes on my enemies list.

I lost it at the ad.
Is it also an homage to the Robert Loggia Minute Maid ad?

Oh no. You guys have stimulated the Space Mutiny part of my brain, and now all I can do is sit here and think of MST3K-style football names...
Blitz Turfbite!
Punt Firstdown!
Flank Endzone!
Rush Lineman!
Sack Tightend!
EDIT: Packer McCheesehead!
