Aisha Tyler is pushed toward comedy and performance by some formative childhood experiences. She voices superspy Lana Kane on the animated show Archer. David Hornsby talks about building comedic stories from his real life relationships. His new animated FX show is called Unsupervised. Plus, the AV Club shares their recommendations and Jordan Morris puts America in its place … by ranking everything. Bullseye with Jesse Thorn: Aisha Tyler, David Hornsby, The AV Club and Jordan Ranks America

I'm going to have to check out Unsupervised now. I had been kind of on the fence about it. I really enjoy what FX has and will usually at least check out any new show they come out with, but the commercials for this aren't doing it many favors. When Jesse mentioned King of the Hill I was on board, though (speaking of shows that were never advertised right.)

With this outshot about The Cane and Jesse's RadioLab appearance on Kristen Schall is a Horse, I think it's fair to say Jesse's cornered the market on intelligent commentary about comedy.

BULLSEYE! I am loving this show so much. At first I missed hearing Jesse say "the Sound of Young America," but Bullseye is like, extra-MaxFun-y, extra-The-Sound-y. My favorite thing about TSOYA has always been Jesse's apparent enthusiasm and curiosity for his topics/guests -- if he's psyched about something, I'm gonna get psyched about it, too -- and Bullseye heightens the sense that he's curating something especially for us. It's such a sharp show (say that five times fast). And hearing someone praise Phil Hartman on the radio in 2011 really warms the ol' heart.
Sooooo, when can we expect to hear Aisha Tyler on JJGo...?

Did anyone else feel a bit mad when Aisha Taylor said it was "nouveau riche" (incorrect usage and all) for parents to split custody of a child? I thought Jesse was going to point out his own upbringing, but of course this is bullseye so he has to behave !

Good job team, you've made two out of two episodes I've really enjoyed now. That's more than a 98% success rate with making episodes that I enjoy.

Is the mis-pronoucing "public radio" something that Jesse was doing on TSOYA or is it new with Bullseye? It's possible he's been doing it for months and I just wasn't really paying attention for changes until the relaunch. In either case, it's fun. I believe on the previous episode it was "public lady-o" which I got a real kick out of. kneemee wrote: Publitadio, Jesse? +1
