I'm hosting a MaxFun Meetup for May 10th! Our pals at This American Life are having a live-to-movie-theaters show, all over the country, and we're going. We'll be at the Burbank 16, so buy your tickets NOW because it WILL sell out. We'll announce the post-show meetup location soon. MaxFun talent will be on hand. FURTHERMORE... If you'd like to host a meetup for that night where YOU LIVE, voice it here, and suggest A) the theater ( list is here) and B) the meetup locale afterwards. Preferable if the meetup locale is within walking distance of the theater if possible. If you can go to one that someone's suggested, CHIME IN. Three's a crowd. Let us know when you've got three, and we'll add it to the master list right here. We're gonna try and get some cool stuff together for the meetups - maybe even some giveaways and the like. MASTER LIST: Los AngelesHost: Jesse! Theater: Burbank 16 Ticket LinkMeetup Afterwards: Buffalo Wild Wings Burbank! (Jordan wants to eat wings) New YorkNEW YAWKERS. Hello Plattsburghers and Burlingtonites! I know this is a long(ish) shot, but I figure there should be at least a few people that are up for going. (Hey, VPR did run TSoYA for more than a year before dropping in to play more Praire Home Companion and TAL reairings!) I'm in Plattsburgh and the showing is at the Palace 9 Theater in South Burlington. I would be willing to grab someone from the NY side of the lake if they wouldn't mind pitching in a few hay pennies for the ferry.

MAXFUNSTERS NEAR BIRMINGHAM, AL
I know some of you are out there in Alabama. At the very least there was that lovely couple from Huntsville that was on Judge John Hodgman!
The Rave in Vestavia seems the most centrally located. That's 1911 Kentucky Avenue, Vestavia Hills.
MEETUP: The closest place is Mugshots Bar and Grill. I haven't been there, but it seems like a good place for this kind of thing.

Lindsay and I bought our tickets today! Totally down for a meetup, though we don't have a hostable place.

Hey Georgia folks!
I'm going either to Savannah or Augusta. Anyone else around here going to one or the other?

AUSTIN, TX MAX FUNSTERS: This is happening on my birthday, and I can't think of a more lovely way to combine three of my favorite things (Birthdays, TAL, and MaxFun)!
There are several theater options around town. Sadly, none are downtown. Any suggestions for a group viewing?
Or, should we eschew the group viewing for the sake of convenience, and have a group post-TAL discussion meet-up instead?

Zach, sounds good. Are there other NYC-ers going to the actual live show that will be in all the theaters? it's at the skirball center and tickets cost wayyyyy more but will be worth it! If anyone got tix for that (sold out), let me know and we can meet up there.

I just bought my ticket for the Burbank showing. I am super excited and love TAL, but I hate that none of my friends are going with me

Davin and I are going, and I am beyond pumped about it. Omg that would be sooo awesome I hate seeing movies alone. If we go to Buffalo Wild Wings The first round is on me.

Hey there, Philadelphians! I'd be inclined to see the screening at the Rave theater in West Philly (230 S. 40th St.), but the Regal on Columbus Blvd. might be more widely accessible. Any thoughts? If we go with West Philly, the Ethiopian restaurant & bar Abyssinia (229 South 45th St.) would be a comfortable place to meet. _____________________ http://jacket2.org/podcasts

BELTWAY INSIDERS AND OUTSIDERS, we have our choice of two Metro-accessible theaters: Ballston and Hoffman (Eisenhower Avenue). Luckily, each is also adjacent to Ted's Montana Grill locations for maximum JJGo callback potential. Anyone have a preference?
