So excited to hear my momentous kitten occasion on the show! Thanks, guys. I found these cats last Tuesday night, hanging out at the edge of a field (I live in farm country about sixty miles south of Portland). After talking to a bunch of people at local shelters and rescue groups, I've decided to foster & place them myself. My county doesn't have its own public shelter, and private groups are impacted (it's high kitten season). I have the space & time to care for the whole fam, and with the help of a couple feral/stray rescue groups, I can get them vaccinated and eventually fixed for cheap-to-free. They've been to the vet, and are in pretty good shape, though they were all a little dehydrated and underweight. Here's the gang: And here's the mom, who is probably barely a year old. She's incredibly sweet and affectionate, and she'll need a home, too: Lots more pictures AND VIDEO on flickr. The kittens will be ready for homes in 3-4 weeks. Ideally they'll be adopted out in pairs, but that's negotiable. I'd also love for potential adopters to make a small donation to one of the groups providing veterinary care. Any MaxFunsters interested in adopting a kitten can contact me via private message. Acquiring an adorable pet is an excellent way to become MORE POWERFUL THAN EVER (and/or get laid).

I wish I could help out. I'm a big fan of black kitties --- my first three were all black and my current two are tuxedo kitties that lean much further into black than white. Strange but true -- black cats are the last ones adopted in any shelter. I can't figure that out for the life of me.
At least I can (and will) send positive energy northwards toward happy homes for sweet kittens.

Poor poor kitties! Since Mom is people-friendly and not wild, that makes me wonder if she was dumped when she got pregnant . We live in a rural area and people do that shit all the time. They're all, "Here's some abandoned barns. Go make a new life." Sad sad sad! I'm so glad that you found them and took the time to round them up! Too bad I don't live near Portland or I might have to try to talk the household into cat number three... EDIT: OMG OMG OMG GO LOOK AT ELISABETH'S FLICKR PAGE, AHHHHH too cute

I thought for sure that Jordan was going to say that the greatest anal toy of all was inside you all along.
Love that the dogs didn't speak up until the subject of kittens came up. Nice comedic timing, dogs!

This episode is all about juxtapositions. Bucky Sinister's aesthetic. Going super blue followed by super adorable.

EDIT: OMG OMG OMG GO LOOK AT ELISABETH'S FLICKR PAGE, AHHHHH too cute I grew up on a ranch and people would often dump cats at our place. We had a wildly fluctuating population of barn cats. My dad's a huge cat lover, so he'd feed them. My uncle's a vet, so whenever we could, we'd have them fixed. But, inevitably we'd end up with feral unfixed cat who'd eventually drive a boom of equally feral kittens.

I hope the kittens and mama find a home soon! Someone recently abandoned some pet rabbits in my friend's yard. One 'disappeared', one's still scampering about, and I managed to trap one and bring it to the rescue. Some peeps be terrible. But at least I got to cuddle this bunny: Hopefully we'll catch the other one soon too.

A couple of years ago, my parents had SIXTEEN dumped on them at once (mom and several generations, I presume), and they cannot afford to have 16 cats neutered at $60+ a pop. It's the most irresponsible thing -- hurts the people you dump them on, hurts the cats you dump and any cats already there who they might fight with, hurts the environment. Who thinks this is okay? Same people who think trash they throw out the car window will just go away, I guess. Xyloart wrote: Someone recently abandoned some pet rabbits in my friend's yard. A scourge in my college town is people dumping ferrets at end-of-lease time. My mom and dad got three of their rescue ferrets that way! Domestic animals, man! They're not any better at surviving in the woods than you are! WHAT THE HELL PEOPLE
