Hello, oldest brother Justin McElroy here. I've taken over posting duties from Griffin this week, but I don't really know the things he normally writes. Does he just try to get you excited about it? Cause man, this episode ... it's got, you know, jokes. Jokes for miles. Oh man, the goof to not goof ratio, she's just dizzying.

Suggested talking points: Oh shit, what goes here? Like, the things we talked about? Umm, there was the thing about John Candy and the Jamaican Running Team, Griffin said "straight up Christmas crazy" and then we did the Womenade thing that I mentioned before and ... I don't know, it had lots of jokes.

I was listening to the podcast while driving, and the "Internet baby" voices started.

It got dangerous.

Gotta make sure I don't start talking about "opening the kimono" in Monday meetings.

You can open your kimono, just don't expect anyone to chop down the bush and throw it in the fire.

I've actually had people use this in meetings....makes me vomit in my mouth a little. Other normal occurances: low hanging fruit, blue sky thinking, robust solutions

I got an extra-unpleasant mental image when "I don't want to see Mario's penis!" came right after "open the kimono" - I'm not much of a gamer, so I didn't make the Mario Bros. connection - instead, my brain jumped to this complicated pun around "opening the CUOMO" and seeing Mario Cuomo's penis, and that's just no way to start a day.

But "Things The Internet Baby Would Coo To Ray Liotta?" That could be its own podcast.

Unless I'm very much mistaken, "opening the kimono" was inserted (ugh) into pop culture by Bertram Cooper, Robert Morse's character on "Mad Men." I am aghast and amazed that people have picked it up as actual corporate-speak.

I don't know if this is at all relevant to the conversation at hand, but it is a useful little piece of advice that popped into my head recently: Never fuck a gift horse in the mouth. Cause seriously, you gotta watch out for those teeth. Horses got some chompers. Seriously. Just sayin.
