Okay gang,

We're a little late on the first of our two Halloween episodes on account of something scarier than any of the stories on the show... this thing called Sandy.

Behold the episode that shall forever be know as... Ick!
http://risk-show.com/podcast/double-fea ... error-ick/

However, when AREN'T spooky stories fun? These four are a trip. Michele Carlo, author of the memoir Fish Out of Agua, tells of a "voodoo war" that broke out in her Bronx neighborhood in the mid-70s. Danny Lobell, a RISK! favorite, shares about a very important message that came to him from beyond the grave. Todd Dakotah Briscoe of the sketch comedy group Political Subversities, passes through the Seven Gates of Hell. And Boston comedian Ken Reid tells what may be the goriest story we've featured yet.

Check it out and let us know what you think!

Kevin

Great episode! The ghost hunters were my favorite. I'm a total skeptic who is, paradoxically, extremely intrigued and spooked out by "true" stories of the paranormal -- if they're convincing. I certainly can't explain the deal with the factory. Crazy! Now I want to go to Amarillo and check it out.

It's funny Lydia. I too am very skeptic about these kinds of stories and Todd's was no exception. But I love the way it has those patterns in it. Going through the first, second and third gates each time is right out of a fairy tale. And there's something poignant about the fact that the boys were so eager to face the terrors of the paranormal realm... but couldn't face the real-life fright of coming out of the closet to one another.

Yeah I wish I knew more about the Seven Gates of Hell story. I want to find it on Google Maps also.

Danny Lobell is such a phenomenal story teller. It sounds so organic, like he's just rambling off a story over beers.

I was able to find the gates on Google maps and I think I found the factory. Very creepy looking.

The Nacho Libre thing was just the funniest shit ever.

Our episode editor Jeff Barr got all obsessed with finding the Seven Gates on Google maps also. He assured me he won't bill me for those hours....

Amazing thing! Danny Lobell got seated next to Jack Black on a plane. He told the Nacho Libre story and Black loved it. Now I should try to find out how to reach Black and get him on the show too.

I can't figure out how to link to it. I believe the first gate is here: 35.304545, -101.922157

Was Danny Lobell in First Class or does Jack Black fly coach? Either is surprising to me.
