I'm only 20 minutes in but just dropping in to say I'm an English person and hedgehogs don't do shit to hedges. Hedges are their habitat but they eat stuff like insects, berries and snails. They are also adorable. All that stuff about walking holidays in backyards is totally true though. Here's a hedgehog thing fans of cute stuff might want to see http://www.sttiggywinkles.org.uk/

Oh man. I just heard the bit about the girl being bit by a dolphin, and it reminded me of a thing I saw a couple of months ago. I was traveling through South America with my girlfriend, and we were visiting this nature park called Iguazu. It borders Brazil and Argentina, and is all about these enormous, majestic waterfalls, but to get there, you have to take a little train ride from the entrance. The first thing we seen getting off of the train is this crowd of moms and children around this thing called a coati, which is basically just a raccoon. Of course, all of the kids are trying to pet it, and their moms are just egging them on, to pet this thing. All right next to the sign covered in photos of coatis just going apeshit on people, people covered in bloody gashes from coatis, with "DON'T TOUCH THE COATIS" written in giant letters in at least three languages. Best parent awards, to all of them.

My vote for new farm animal is giraffe. That guy would fit right in. Except for all the shorter buildings that it would literally not fit in. But I think it'd be worth it. It's got those stubby little horns; they're called ossicones! It learns to walk mere hours after birth! It's got a prehensile blue tongue! And it'd be super fun to feed. And some day, if we're lucky, to ride.

I'm only in as far as the monster pig part, but I have to tell this story about the time I was at the Iowa State Fair looking at the monster boar (who was just lying on his side, hot and miserable and in no condition to take anyone's hand off with his tusks), and a little three- or four-year-old boy wanted to pet him, but the only part he could reach was the balls. So this kid was joyfully petting the monster boar's giant balls until the two or three chaperones who were with him recovered from cracking up laughing and stopped him.
Iowa small town killers: the one from my town was a woman who murdered her husband and preserved his remains in canning jars which she then buried under her house. This story is the cornerstone of one of my family's favorite inside jokes. My grandma was listening in on the party line to two other ladies, Goldie and Pearl, talking about this case back when it was current, and they were going back and forth about how horrible it was, how barbaric, etc. Then there was a pause, and Goldie said admiringly, "But think of the work of it, Pearl!"

I hope Jesse's cap looks like the Fantastic Mr. Fox, because it will give him another reason to talk about George Clooney.

Do you guys ever see a Serval and think "That's cute, but it'd be cuter without the spots. Maybe those ears could be just a little bit bigger, too"? Caracal. Edit: CHECK THEM BOTH OUT!

Two animals I'd love to see in farms: *Capybaras (they're even meat animals in South America (actually according to the Catholic church they are fish)), especially if they are constantly sitting under falling water*Binturongs ("bearcats"), which are kinda like civets that don't poop gourmet coffee, but they are hilarious.

Points -IM SO GLAD SOMEONE AGREES WITH ME ABOUT GOATS -Link to the fox hats please -I make the crappier fleece kind for adults. I do wear mine out but I am a girl; maybe that's why it's okay? Or it's still not okay and I'm just letting everyone know I'm crazy. -My future dream farm will of course have goats but I also wish to have zebras. Preferably rescue zebras. Or maybe zonkies. -Jesse if you're ever for some reason around Gettysburg you and your family need to visit the Land of Little Horses Miniature Horse Park. I cannot shut up about how great this place is. IT'S FULL OF TINY HORSES AND DONKS AND TRAINED LLAMAS AND PERFORMING RESCUE DOGS AND THE DONKS JUST WANDER AROUND LOOKING FOR TREATS
