Nearly as much fun to listen through as it was to experience live.

Had a wonderful experience listening to Hodgman again because I realized that when I heard it live, I was having so much fun -- making new friends, etc -- that I actually missed about the first ten minutes.
I look back and think: how is that even possible? I love his work and I'd been looking forward to hearing him speak for months! But by the time it happened (this was only a few hours after arrival), I was already so giddy that I almost forgot to focus on appreciating the precious gem that was right in front of me. Luckily, I caught myself fairly quickly.
So: 1. wonderful to think back on how ridiculously happy I was; and 2) even better that we have the whole thing on tape so I can go back and now enjoy/savor every word properly. So immensely charming and he did such a thoughful job of setting a warm, positive and inclusive attitude for the weekend. I really loved that. Not sure anyone else could have kicked off the weekend with more character, insight and style.

Sometimes I need a reminder that I have all the tools I need (more than enough, in fact) and that I need to just do the things I want to do. Merlin is my new reminder. So much great stuff in this episode.

Because I want to join Merlin's cult. Especially if there's some sort of belt system or perhaps productivity throwing stars to buy.
But in all seriousness AWESOME!
Also I'm taking this class in order to keep me focused on this project I'm working on so that I have to actually accomplish things on a weekly basis and this woman is like the anti-Merlin Mann. She keeps saying the word monetize and just so isn't coming at it from a passion/fan perspective and is very much coming at it from a here's how you trick these suckers. But whatever that's why I subscribe to TSOYA and skim 43folders.

Thanks for making this available. Wish I could make to the west coast for MaxFunCon. Any thoughts of bringing to the east coast? The Southeast? Maybe Atlanta? You could avoid New York and bring some serious credibility to Atlanta.
Great! Glad to hear it. I'll see you there in Atlanta next year! Yeah!

Familiar with Airplane Technology, Eric? If you look into it, you might discover something interesting...

I wouldn't call myself and expert, but I have been to Kitty Hawk! Something I'm more familiar with these days is the economy and the cost of airfare. A boring and beat-to-death topic to be sure, but one that is constantly churning in my brain these days.
One day, I'll be able to attend. One sweet, sweet time in the future. For now, I'm getting off my rump and finding something creative to do!
