Great interview. As usual you asked some great questions. I am a huge fan of The National so it was great to see two of my favorite things collide. Also I met Matt and the National in Sept for my job as promoters assistant and they were soooo nice. Matt gave me a bottle of wine, they gave me a bunch of free merch and a $40 tip. Super cool to meet a band you love and they treat you so nicely.

I am also sooooo excited for the Dr. Dog Interview another one of my favorite bands. Incidentally I met them through my job as well also super nice guys. We talked about other bands from Philly and sweet collaborations Scott was doing with other beloved band of me mewithoutyou.

Ramble over*

*although i wouldn't be opposed to being called a "Ramblin' Man"

By odd twist of fate I ended up giving both Matt and the Dr Dog guys rides back to their respective hotels after the interviews (do this from time to time because it's so tough to get a cab to come up here). They were just the nicest sets of guys you could ever hope to meet. Really pleasant fellows, all.

I was generally skeptical of the fandom of his work before this year (way too much repression), but High Violet is pretty damn inspiring. I grew up in NYC and have recently moved to the Midwest, yet "Bloodbuzz Ohio" makes me homesick to the point of tears (even if it's in the reverse direction).
