My hand turkey is not smoking a cigarette or saying anything mean because I want him to inspire young people.
The airplane represents haterz.

Great interview!
Oh boy, what is the angry turkey going to say to Garrison Keillor?

This is a wonderful interview! Lynda Barry also makes me want to get things done.

I never thought I'd hear a mention of "deep play" on TSOYA. This hits every button for me – creative work, psychology, comedy. Fantastic, inspirational interview.
Her line about feeling that we need to "leave things to professionals" unless we're "very good at them" is right on the money for what keeps people from doing cool things.
She'd be great as a MaxFunCon panelist/guest/awesome person.

I cannot wait to hear this. I have been a fan of hers forever, and I suggested her in the suggest a guest thread years ago when the forum was new. I am really excited, and in fact, she would be an awesome person to run a wkshp at MFC someday. She does the lecture circuit and specializes in writing.

Here's my hand-Turkey inspired by this episode. Where's yours, Jesse?

Glad to see you remembered the slice of Turkey in Europe.

I wouldn't forget it, I was a geography bee champion in my day. It is a little wide, but my fingers are a little too fat.

FWIW, Ms. Barry asked only that your turkey be "saying something to someone that you hate", not that it be anything mean. There must be plenty of room there to inspire the young, no?
