looks like they canceled Crash Test tomorrow night
Jackie Kashian told me about http://www.thecomedybureau.com/ which does a pretty great job of listing good comedy events around LA, so we can check that out tomorrow once it's updated to see what's good before or after.
What is everyone's plan? I'm going to What's Up Tiger Lily, but would be a fan of meeting up for dinner or something beforehand.

Hi guys, Jed here. I'm at the Wilshire. But I still don't really know who any of you are! I am a forum dork--is there a way I can tell what your actual name is, given your handle? If I didn't meet you this weekend, there's a pic of me on this page: http://headswillroll.net/more/about.html
Anyhow, kinda exhausted for tonight, but vaguely willing to entertain entertainment options. Jason (of the pink mohawk) from the MFC mentioned a good open mic tonight at Meltdown Comics, in which he'll be performing.

FYI, for What's Up Tiger Lily (no cover charge):
Hosted by ERIC DADOURIAN
Featuring:
DANA GOULD
PETE HOLMES
KUMAIL NANJIANI
TJ MILLER
MATT KIRSHEN
DOUG MELLARD
GIULIA ROZZI
BARBARA GRAY
CHRIS THAYER
Dinner beforehand works for me. The show is hosted by the Hollywood Bar & Grill. A cursory glance at Yelp looks like the food there is fine. I haven't looked for alternative locations, but there's something to be said for supporting a place that would host free comedy.

Jed, I'm Maureen from your improv class (the goth shoe salesman). Also at the Wilshire. We're looking to find a low key dinner/ drinks option where we can all just hang out and bask in the weekend. I do like the idea of Jason's open mic though too.

Yay! Knowing who someone is! Hi Maureen!
Low key sounds perfect. I think Meltdown is at like 7:30, so I know I won't make it...I'd be game for dinner later around here, or up on Vermont there are some fun casual places.

YAY MORE KUMAIL NANJIANI, and I agree it's worth eating dinner at a place that hosts a free comedy show.
Also, I'm Gabe and luvrhino is the indomitable Ken Roberts

Matt Mira's Day Off starts at either 7:30 (according to Meltdown) or 8:00 according to some other places. Regardless, we'd have to leave just about now and i'd probably want to get food on the way (since i don't know how long it'd take and i don't know that they'll have a food truck there). I'm in room 307 in case you wanted to call and coordinate. I can drive.

We met someone last night after Meltdown* who said that What's Up Tiger Lily is a long show so you're going to want to eat dinner there.
*Matt Mira's Day Off was a good time and two MFC attendees did sets.

Agreed. Show starts at 8:00. I think getting there early (7:00 or 7:30) so we can chat first (and get good seats) makes sense. I don't know how that fits with everyone's schedule. I've never been there before, so i don't know how important getting good seats is, but it being a restaurant rather than a theater makes me think seat selection is likely pivotal.
FYI, just added DEMETRI MARTIN, BRETT GELMAN, and VICTOR VARNADO. I have yet to see Demetri, so that's excellent.

As far as Tiger Lily goes, the restaurant is not very big so it doesn't matter too much where you sit. They claim the show starts at 8 but in my experience, it's never started before 8:20 and usually not before 8:30. I've walked in at ten til 8 and been the only one there, but that was when the show was less popular I would say 7:30 is plenty early to get your pick of tables. The food is so-so.

Okay, 7:30 it is...unless anyone has objections. Of course, if some people get there late, it should be fine.
As for number of seats, i know Gabe, Maureen, Ronnie, and i intend on going. Joe might, depending on how tired he is post-Disneyland. I suspect that jbissell wants to go. We should verify with doubles and Jed. My impression from last night was that Matt and Jason intended on going, but i may have misunderstood that. Patrick, are you in?
Anyone else?

Definitely going. It looks like this is the only thing comedy-wise worth going to tonight. 7:00-7:30 sounds fine. I'll probably get there earlier as I have nothing else to do today besides hit the gym. Maybe I'll check out a beach somewhere.
