Nick Adams insisting on buying steins to use while hosting JJGo is the funniest thing in the world to me.
Jesse,
You're lucky that you had the experience with your younger brothers. I had spent almost zero time with young babies until we had one. I was so freaked about holding a newborn. They look so fragile. Then, I saw how the nurses handled our baby. Seeing the way they chucked her around made me confident that I could get her passed those months, alive.

To me, Jumpers is a good, but overrated Sleater-Kinney song. I love S-K, but i don't like Jumpers as much as most S-K fans.
Growing up in Chicagoland, we had "bouncy castles" instead of "jumpers." I've only been in one once as a child, yet i've survived into adulthood without going on a Catholic school girl-like rebel streak where i jump everything that moves. I do want to go jump in one now, though...

I found my solitary visit an Urgent Care Clinic was one of the more depressing, yet diverse, places i've been. That it was in Las Vegas likely had something to do with it. There was a full blown, mutli-colored neck tattoo. A couple ladies who may or may not have been strippers, but definitely dressed like them, with small children in tow. I volunteer at a PP clinic and while some of our abortion patients are upset, i had never seen so many despondent people with dead eyes as in that Urgent Care Clinic.
The staff seemed almost as depressed and didn't seem to care at all for me being cheerful or asking any questions. OTOH, they gave me some codeine-based cold medicine so i was able to play in my World Series of Poker event without dying or coughing all over the chips. I even did pretty well, so that was nice.

I feel as though i should be immune to Zooey Deschanel's new Manic Pixie Dream Girl: The Television Show, but i still find myself being charmed by the commercials...even though it appears the sole reason for its existence is to make Zooey appear to be as adorable as possible. It makes me hate myself.
----
Best of luck with the pushing and its corresponding presenting.

I always thought a Push Present was giving the novel "Push: Based on a novel by Sapphire" to your wife after giving birth. That's a mistake I won't make again
JJGO is the best. Good luck!

I was disappointed that this wasn't a discussion of a hypothetical sequel to the Hayden Christiansen vehicle "Jumper."

Not calling the episode "Sustainable Butcher" was a missed opportunity. My band is gonna have a song called "Sustainable Butcher."

As a Chicago native, I appreciate you pointing out the differences between our regional dialects. In m family though we all them "bouncy houses" where "bouncy castle" is the term we reserve for when the bouncy house is painted to actually look like a castle.
Anyways addressing Jesse's fear about his child growing up in a world saturated in "jumpers" I can't recall a family party or block party where I didn't have access to a bouncy house. And now that I am older and my cousins and siblings have children of their own, we can no longer go in the bouncy houses when all the kids are in there; however, whoever the adult is that rented the bouncy house, after a few beers and after the children are asleep, reinflate the bouncy house and go for a bounce.
Last weekend was my nephews second birthday, and after everyone left the party my brother, sister in-law, and I got in the bouncy house with a few cousins and drank beers and bounced.

Jesse owns a sports car? Has this come up before?
Of course, due to his pathological modesty, Jesse could be calling a Kia Sorento a "sports car."

Yeah, I sold the El Co a couple of years ago. (It was my second, by the way- my first car was an '82.)

There is one thing on which Cholo Dads and the Free Design can agree.
Kites are fun.

More people need to say how awful of a movie Scarface is.
As far as Latino parties: my Puerto Rican corner neighbors couldn't get the stereo in their van parked on the street loud to hear throughout the house so they started parking the van on their front lawn.
