Elisabeth and Melissa are good friends and enthusiastic travelers, who often journey together on planes and in cars across the country. While their traveling styles mesh for the most part, they are divided on a hot-button issue: the correct way to de-plane once you've arrived at your destination.

Who is right in the case of DE PLANE?

DISCUSS!

Great job, guest bailiff Jake Tapper! That was a lot of fun.

I learned two things about recording techniques this week. The Life Aquatic With Steve Zisou tough me that DVD commentary taught me that a commentary track should not be recorded in a busy bar/restaurant and this episode of Judge John Hodgeman taught me that Judge John shouldn't record his podcast in what would seem to be an echoey bathroom. All the same, great episode and I wish I had heard this before I was in the Denver airport last week.

1) If there's a stranger in the row with you, just get out when it's your turn (assuming no one in the rows behind you has an abnormal situation).

2) If you're all friends, you have a comfortable layover, and no one urgently needs to go to the bathroom, wait until there's a significant opening and you won't be causing delays for anyone behind you. This is preferred over unnecessarily continuing to wait for others to depart because the flight staff has crap to do and you'd be slowing them down.

3) If you're all friends and you've reached your final destination, then it should work like a democracy on whether you should go during your turn or wait. Note that the aisle person can still go when its his row's turn, even if out-voted by the other two wanting to wait.

All of this is rational courtesy.

I can't believe that the Judge talked that long about Denver International Airport conspiracy theories without mentioning that the runways form a swastika.

This episode provides an excellent example of why I generally travel alone. I never have to discuss whether to wait for other people with anybody.

That's the shriek that launched a thousand nightmares.

I loved the Hodgman-shriek so hard I almost ran off the road, which also would have been shriek-worthy.

Also, my browser attempts to correct Hodgman-shriek to Manhood-shriek.

With apologies to Reddit, Jesse, and especially the honorable Judge Hodgman, I couldn't help myself:

I'm so sorry.

I was coming into this one thinking that, of course, Elisabeth is right. But I ended up siding with Melissa. Sorry, Elisabeth!

I WILL NEVER FORGIVE YOU.

Hey: being on the JJHo podcast was so much fun. Melissa and I were both nervous leading up to recording, but it ended up being a great time. Speaking with Jake Tapper was an unexpected treat, and as usual Hodgman was hilarious and just derisive enough.
The editing is superb, too - I remember asking the honorable judge to define "majordomo," and then worrying that I would sound like a real dummy when the podcast came out. Turns out my definition request was taken out, so now I only sound like a real dummy on a messageboard.
