what a lovely old gentleman. i'd always projected a persona of hardened badass onto mr. leonard - old sailor-type coot that had more life experience in a single whisker than me in my entire body. but he comes off as kind and wise as anything. beautiful interview.

He was the nicest guy you could ever hope to meet. He had the demeanor of a 35-year-old. It was really exciting and cool to meet him.

Kudos! Even though Leonard's still a prominent figure in pop culture, it feels like you've unearthed something essential with this interview. You never see him on talk shows or in the media. I've loved him since I was a teenager, but I've never heard him speak. Good work, sir.

Listening to this interview was the highlight of yesterday for me.
I've enjoyed Elmore Leonard's books for a number of years and heard a handful of interviews over the years and this one really stood out.

Jesse and Mr. Leonard had a really great rapport and he really seemed to be enjoying himself quite a lot. Fun and interesting interview.

Really good work Jesse.
