When I saw that the newest TSOYA was Kenny Mayne I knew I was in for a treat. He has always been one of my favorite personalities in the sports journalism world, along with Dan Patrick. It was really exciting to hear him mention "Wenatchee Valley College" because I grew up there and knowing that he had gone to school there was one of the few things I was proud of as a resident growing up there. I have since moved to an even smaller city in Montana, but I claim Wenatchee as home. Anyway, I'm looking forward to reading his book after hearing this interview--great as always, Jesse!

Sports sports sports, sports. Sports. Sports sports, and also sports.
That being typed- I realize how unique it is for a public radio show to even acknowledge that sports coverage exists, and I'm recommending both the interview and the book to my brother in law.

Does anyone have a favorite Kenny Mayne piece?
Recently I really enjoyed the one he did which was a takeoff on the final episode of the Sopranos, featuring then Dallas Cowboys Offensive Line Coach (current Miami Dolphins Head Coach) Tony Sparano. They mimicked the final scene perfectly (one of the Cowboys Cheerleaders was parking her car outside, while Tony Romo leered from the bar). I look forward to checking out Mayne's book.

To be honest, there are few things I care less about that sports of any kind, and despite the fact that I have a brother and sister-in-law that played on NCAA championship Basketball teams, I have logged maybe 6.5 minutes of watching ESPN in my life.
That being said, I really liked the interview.
