In case anyone missed my post in the Hodgman book readings thread this is just a friendly reminder that he will be appearing TONIGHT on The Best Show on WFMU.
Can't wait to hear this one Jesse.

I think I'm going to be driving while Hodgman is on the best show, so I'll have to wait for the podcast. Dissapointing!

Jesse, there's a blip around the 2:55 mark. Is that something that can be fixed before getting sent to radio stations? Or before posted to the Information Tunes?
I don't know about how these things are done.

I just double-checked the radio version and it's all clear. Must just be on the podcast for some reason. Thanks for the heads up. I don't have access to the podcast side of things, but I'll see with Jesse about getting it fixed.
You can always e-mail me at nick@maximumfun.org about that type of stuff.

Just out of curiosity, did you hear last week when Tom threw every member of Improv Everywhere into the hate pit?

I wish I had a dispute that Judge John Hodgman could mediate

I did not! I just listened to last week's, though. Maybe it was the week before last?

Jesse will you be mad at me if I admit I just photoshopped that painting of him and I didn't actually put brush to canvas?

I believe it was the 11/18 show, which would've been last week. I'm pretty sure it took place after the Hammerhead call.

I did not hear this, but it sounds like somebody is finally saying the right things about this bunch of knuckleheads.

Weird, weird moment... sort of spacing out a bit near the end of this excellent interview when Jesse mentioned Jumbo the Elephant.
I used to be a tour guide at Tufts, and we have to tell the entire story that Hodgman told on the interview. He's right, it's a bit shameful.

That interview was just awesome. He and Jesse are always great together.
As a current Tufts student, I can assure you that while our mascot is a kind of a joke, being a rather non-sports-inclined school, generally no one particularly cares. Though during orientation they started off the big dinner/event the very first night with a series of loud scream-like noises that we concluded were supposed to be battle-like elephant calls and presented a version of the Jumbo story that focused strongly on his heroism in (supposedly) saving the smaller elephant and kind of ignored the sad parts. I was recently informed by the president of the university that Jumbo's tail is actually cataloged in the archives and you can go request to see it.

Good description. I should point out I'm still a Tufts student, I'm just abroad this semester.
It should also be pointed out that they replaced the real Jumbo with a statue, which I recently learned is the wrong kind (african instead of indian or vice versa, I don't remember.)
