Started a new band - 3 peace, very loud noise rock, shouty-talking vocals. We need a name. We have 2 finished songs and no name. Hit me?!

I'm gonna go home, and pick this thread up tomorrow, but I actually really like The Influence Machine, but my guitar player and I are in another band with Machine in it.

Also, I laughed heartily when I read Read Fallopian Tube Socks. Would be the best Wheel of Fortune Before & After ever.

Call your band The Rachel Cut because it's what I've wanted to name a band since like 1998 but nobody will ever let me get away with it.

I have a note titled "possible band names" stored in Google docs for just such an occasion ...but then I opened it up and there was only one name:
"The Council on Books in Wartime"

I make no claims, but it is yours if you want it.

FANTASTIC, I second this. Your marketing is in the bag because everyone already searches google for that phrase, but your merchandising options would be pretty limited.

The funny thing is, it's a name I first thought of in the early 90's. Just never used it for anything.

Fuck Dumpster is a great early 90s type bandname and would fit a shouty noise rock band perfectly. If JDig doesn't use it and Cameron Crowe revisits grunge for a movie ever and needs a name for a fictional band Fuck Dumpster would be perfection. And he should pay DigD handsomely for the rights.

If not Fuck Dumpster then I can offer these names of my former bands (also early 90s in tone funnily enough) which are awesome but the bands are now retired and the names are free to a good home -

The Bastard Cupcakes
Love Slaves Of The Amazons
Muscular Beaver
CRABS?

And some names I came up with once upon a time which are awesome but were never used and are also free to a good home ...

The Last Hope Of Mankind
The Glorious Reprobates
Seventeen Thousand Shades Of Magnificent
Colonel Maude and The Warlord's Horde

Fuck Dumpster is superb. Muscular Beaver has a nice ring, too.

Other than that, here's:

Gilded Fetus
Hank's Nephew
The Moderate Girth
58008
Comet Kropotkin
A Bucket of Ankles
